AP Explains: The election result may be delayed. That's OK.

Source: Associated Press

We may not know who won the presidential election on Tuesday night. And if so, it does not necessarily mean anything is broken, fraudulent, corrupted or wrong.

Yes, thereís never been a presidential race in history in which all votes are counted on election night. Itís just not physically possible to instantly count that many ballots ó possibly as many as 150 million on the night of Nov. 3.

1. Old Project Management Adage

Projects are measured by how fast, how cheap, & how high the quality.
You can only have 2.
Want high quality, fast? It'll cost you.
Want fast & cheap? Quality suffers.
Want high quality & cheap? Better have patience.
Same thing with voting result.
And since accuracy is king in counting votes, it either has to be hugely expensive to do it fast, or we wait patiently.
