General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHave you made any specific plans on how you are going to celebrate a Biden victory?
Besides celebrating on DU, how are you going to celebrate?
At some point fairly soon after Biden is declared the winner, I'm getting together with several friends, and we are going to make a loop around town honking our horns in celebration. Good clean fun. Just one loop, though, to avoid any Trumpsters who might be waiting to pelt us with rocks during a second loop, haha.
How about you? Any plans?

(12,712 posts)give out a HUGE sigh of relief and then walk on some sunshine in the sky of freedom. Then do some dancing in the clouds and maybe jump for joy more than once.

(133 posts)And then I'll probably allow myself to get really drunk! I'm a moderate drinker by nature. I haven't had more than 1-2 beers at a time in over 5 years. When Joe wins all bets are off!

(28,219 posts)celebration plans in advance.
I do have a large supply of Klonopin, beer, various frozen pies and cakes, and Halloween candy, to try to keep myself as comfortable as possible.
I just hope it will be resolved relatively quickly.

(8,784 posts)My mother was a Holocaust survivor..she always expected "the very worst"...however, when the outcome of whatever she was dreading was less than "the very worst" she'd say "Don't get so excited, the Dybuk blinked...there's always tomorrow"... I will say this...I have two bottles on my kitchen counter just in case...Pepto and champagne..

(28,219 posts)Bless your mother. I'm always in awe of people who manage to survive such hellish situations. Thanks for sharing.
I somehow seem to have developed a similar world view to her. I'm always thinking ahead to the next potential catastrophe. I'll be extremely relieved if Biden wins, but I'll also be worried sick about RW machinations and outbreaks of violence.

(38,408 posts)Then I'll call my father the next day - his blood pressure skyrockted after the last election causing him to bleed so severely (nosebleed) that he needed emergency medical treatment. It took months for his blood pressure to return to normal. In the course of treatment, they discovered he has late stage renal disease.
With any luck, Tuesday will lower his blood pressure.

Our neighbor closest to the driveway is a Dem and a friend, our other closest neighbors are 1 Dem, 2 Repukes, but piss on the rebukes. No ones working away from home right now.
Im going to do it! (I hope!)

(8,297 posts)Going to buy a nice bottle shortly. Tomorrow have a 7:30 call, then wife and my 18 year old daughter are heading to the polls here in Pittsburgh. My daughter's first vote. She is on our side. She is not brash or overly outspoken, but has many gay friends and is intolerant of intolerance, loves animals, is majoring in a science (Biology) so there's no way she'd ever be a Republican. LOL.
Then wife and I are going to play golf during lunch to "get away" from things, get home do some work, possible take a nice long walk, get some food then around 7ish will start watching the results.
We will pop the bubbly when JB is in the clear. If chicanery ensues with the election not sure what we'll do.
