When he comes to with a worst-case hangover, just give him some hair of the biting dog. Repeat daily as necessary.

They may have gotten their lifetime jobs from him, but they don't owe him anything. His reliance on "loyalty" doesn't always work out.

Trump's challenge to the election will no doubt be baseless and I cannot imagine a majority of SCOTUS judges siding with a desperate foolish nonsensical argument to overthrow the decision of the voters in this country.

In fact I dont think the Trump campaign will even fight it if Biden comes out winning big tomorrow. Waste of effort and money.

In most cases they become somewhat moderated. Not always, we have Clarence Thomas as evidence, but more often than not.

To be sure they do tend in the direction of their political bent but not as much as one might expect. It's like being promoted to a position that no one can correct your mistakes so you think extra hard about what you do. As long as there is a firebrand to promote the 'party line' they can offer moderation and sometimes side with the other wing of the court (there ain't supposed to be no wings on the SCOTUS but we all know better).

Justice Souter was appointed by Bush 41 and proved to be quite moderate. Chief Justice Roberts is acting as a swing vote and even Kavanaugh upheld LBGQ rights.

Is it bad for us? Yeah. Is it totally catastrophic world ending bad? Remains to be seen but I hold hope not as bad as some fear.

I would dream of the day that he was gone and not screaming that he and I made a deal for my nomination. Trump cannot fire them now and really has no way to collect on his investment. If he is gone their lives will be 1000% better than if he is constantly trying to extract favors from them in an endless extortion and twitter attack.
