(24,559 posts)The city took the house for the new law enforcement/fire department center and my parents moved to Jefferson Ave. I moved back from the Washington, D.C. area when their health started failing and I lived with them.
It is a far more vibrant and diverse city than I knew growing up. We were there during the infamous white flight when people left in droves for places further away. So many homes were allowed to to fall into disrepair but now they are being restored and it is wonderful.
