Austin Police 'looking into' controversial photo involving several officers
by Melanie Torre
Monday, November 2nd 2020

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department says they are launching an internal affairs investigation after a political and racially-charged photo included some of their officers.

In a memo to city council members, officials said "we do not justify or condone political activities in uniform" and they will look to determine if they violated policies concerning "endorsements and political activities."

It was taken following a rally outside the police department and involved a known hate-group, though rally organizers say the extremists “photo bombed” the image. Still, the political nature of the photo could be a violation of APD policy.

Sunday a group gathered at Austin Police headquarters showing support for APD and to rally against city council members cutting the police budget. The event ended near city hall where the image in question was taken.

Organize with others to ID those KKKops. Get their names and faces all over the news and all over social media. Create community pressure to fire those cops - unlikely, but they may be reprimanded or even demoted.

This is why the public has such distrust of pur police. Problem is systemic.

But it still hurts.

And yes, this problem of system racism needs to
be resolved.

Which to me indicates the news station are blurring the line on who they are protecting.

I just enlarged the pic and there are 3 proudboys giving their white suprematist salute. The cops are surrounded by the group, therefore they were NOT photo bombed as they are claiming.
