Apparently going up to cars near polling places and telling people that they've taken a picture of their licence plates so the folks in the car had better vote for Trump.
Probably the same East County Snowflake He-men who blocked a major downtown offramp yesterday.
We told her to tell folks to take down their licence plates and call the police.
Stupid cowbois.

(12,652 posts)Lots of Cafeteria KKKhristians, retired cops, and conservative wanna be Frontiersmen who don't like hedonistic city folks telling them what to do. Remember, they have been voting for Duncan Hunter pere and fils for decades.
The large Chaldean refugee community there is also very conservative, and may not support him simply because he would betray his conservative compatriots by working to drag East County into the 21st Century.

(8,964 posts)Sounds as if the rest of my state resembles certain parts of California, although the Mormons around these parts are for the most part decent in the sense that their conservatism is far removed from the KKK variety.

(13,551 posts)Voter intimidation. Should be video recorded and reported.

(8,964 posts)In the event that an occasional voter will not be able to put 2 + 2 together. If you "Google" someone's license plate number, you will not bring up their voting record.

(1,351 posts)Obviously voter intimidation is horribly wrong and infuriating, but this is just dumb too. How would they even know who the person voted for?

(12,652 posts)It may be a small isolated situation the sheriff already took care of, or targeted harassment between groups of people who knew each other. But it is out there, just heard from a friend living in east La Mesa that they're having problems with Trumpsters acting out like bullies there also. Her elderly mom is now terrified to go out and vote today, so we will head out at lunch with a bunch of Lysol wipes and masks to take her to her poll location. Laz is 6'2", 280, and looks like he belongs on the Alabama defensive line. (Roll Tide), so if theres any harassment near the polls still going on, we will get the feds as well as cops involved.
She lives near the Shadow Mountain mega-church, if anyone can confirm.

And furthermore, trump has no effin' chance of winning California so they need to take their moronic behinds home.

Which I suppose makes total sense.

(12,652 posts)We don't do Facebook which apparently is where these stories are coming from, but between our La Mesa friend's report and the Stepdaughters friend who reported the original issue, that is where they would be heading out to the polls.
If false alarm or isolated incidents between opposing people who know how each might vote, it has gotten around to enough people to affect some voters - which is a concern. I've texted Stepdaughter to clarify if this actually happened to her friend, or if this was Facebook. But in an hour and a half, Laz and I are going to head out to help our friend's mother go vote, so we can see if there's still a problem.

(12,652 posts)Stepdaughter texted back, no other voting harassment talked about since 9:30 this morning. Hopefully you won't see anything and that was it for the day.
I'll update when we get back.

(2,244 posts)drove Chase, Washington, Mollison in El Cajon, Woodside through Lakeside, Mission Gorge through Santee. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, no Maga Drags, everything looked pretty quiet, actually. Took my mind off the anxiety of the day, getting out for a drive.

(12,652 posts)She kept trying to ask us who we voted for, after she complained about how all these crazy people on both sides were making it not safe for people trying to just do their normal business. Facebook was where she got her news, and when she heard about all the problems going on around voting she was hearing about, she was afraid to be out there on her own or with her daughter, who is quite small.
No issues except for a line due to social distancing, of course. She could have easily gotten there on her own.
She didn't notice our Biden-Harris bumper sticker until we got ready to leave, and suddenly looked rather upset. I suspect we inadvertently helped out an elderly GOP mark.
Facebook is one heck of a trip.
