Prevailing narrative was that Democrats would be outnumbered by GOP turnout in the in-person vote which would somewhat nullify the early/mail-in ballot vote! But I don't think anyone anticipated Dem voters turning out in record numbers all over the country!

I remember 2004 and the exit polls indicating a Kerry landslide around this time.

(11,869 posts)It would be a great thing to win for Biden in Wi: It would be an even more resounding election if in WI we broke through the gerrymander barrier and throw out the R bums.

(133 posts)depressed turnout in Philly was an issue for Clinton, correct? So that's a good sign.

(151,269 posts)just by looking at them. With early votes, we tend to know what party the voters belong to, except in states like MN, which doesn't register voters by party.
On election day, though, you can't tell how people will vote when you see them. So, I discount all statements like yours. We don't really know what the in-person voter breakdown is by party.

(12,344 posts)In Person vote is higher. I think some Democrats decided not to risk mailing it in with all the delays.

(2,508 posts)Is simple- there are more registered democrats than republicans in the US. Extremely high turn out usually benefits democrats as a result.

(7,229 posts)I'm in Jennifer Wexton's congressional district. Don't anticipate she'll have any problems winning a second term. It's going to be a really good night for Va Dems and, I hope, a great night for Dems all over the nation.
