(3,473 posts)Polls generally sample about a thousand people. If you work with multiple people in the same office who say they were polled, they are full of shit.

(27,541 posts)...is that, if it were true, state polls would show Trump running way behind Republicans in other races, such as Congress and the Governorship. That isnt happening if anything, hes running a bit ahead of his co-conspirators.

(5,917 posts)they are never quite accurate. The question is which way are they wrong, and by how much.
2016's systematic miss was a highly unusual modelling miss - one that has been corrected.
You would need another widespread, undetected change in voting/turnout patterns to have a repeat miss of the same size and direction
Possible but very unlikely.
If anything a miss the other direction is more likely, as pollsters by their own admission are often fighting the last war.

(2,653 posts)I had my Cali concern topic alerted on the other day just for wondering what is happening during the last day of early voting their in a matter of seconds. The Op is probably sketchy, but there are people out there who are Real and by calling everyone a troll you are pushing them away

(76,119 posts)In the meantime, consider how one decides what is a legitimate concern, & what isn't.
There is no way to tell whether this OP is a legitimate concern.
The math suggests that what the OP says, couldn't actually occur.
And, how would this conspiracy to lie to pollsters would be effective, nationwide, with nobody finding out?
So, given that, is the OP a legitimate concern?

(59,875 posts)Trump people say they are patriots and are religious, and they believe what they hear on Fox Noise is actually true.
So what you hear from Trump people can hardly be considered "reliable," especially when it has anything to do about the election. If a Trump person screams he is against abortion, you can bet there is an even chance he talked his mistress into getting one last week. Don't let what they tell you make you in the slightest nervous.
