Rep. James Clyburn could become a national hero Wednesday

Let's take a moment to thank him! He may have single-handedly saved both our party and our country with his endorsement of Biden. Without it, Biden would likely not be the nominee today.

There is no doubt in my mind that Joe Biden was the best choice to be the nominee of this party in 2020. Whether Biden has a 'narrow' win or wins in a landslide, I have no regrets. Biden has given us the best chance to win up and down the ballot. James Clyburn knew this way ahead of time and endorsed Biden. If we can pull of a trifecta and win control of the entire government, Clyburn will go down with the likes of John Lewis as a true American hero and patriot...saving this country from the depth and despair of Trump.

He was already a hero for his national service and vision to this country. Time for the rest of the country to realize this.

gotten so many Republicans to endorse them. No one else is as respected by so many as Joe is. The only reason I wasn't immediately onboard with Joe was because of his age, and that's the issue that the other side has used most successfully against him, despite the age and diminished intellect of their candidate. Joe is also the most likely to bring this country together, finally. I hope we have him for a long time to come.

A good 30-35% of the nation believes he is a communist, among other stupid notions. These people are so far gone down the right wing propaganda hole I am not sure how much healing will take place. I hope enough Republicans settle down so the crazies look more like just a fringe group instead of the entire lot of them. I want Joe to fight for the American people, but if he wins, govern like you have a mandate, ask for Republican help, but don't acquiesce to them, they never do for us.

never be won over. The hard line greed barons and anti-choice cult will never be won over. We need to do something about fox propaganda and hate radio on a national basis through education and advertisement for all the harm they've done to our nation.

Joe is an exceptionally good man, and it comes through the more I see of him. I think he will appeal to people's better nature and get them to try to compromise on some things for the good of the country. He's going to tell them that no one gets everything they want. We have too many things that desperately need to get done. We're going to have to learn to work together again, and Joe is just the man to facilitate that.

That's very hard to do. That's why he's the one that gives us the best chance to win across the board.

The irony is that Joe Biden may be the candidate that brings about a revolution, without ever uttering the word.

so Joe is the natural choice. If there's anything good that's come out of the Trump years, it's that the sane Americans have suddenly seen how bad things have gotten and they're ready to stop this descent into madness and get together for everyone's sake. It's almost too late, but at least we have someone who can turn it around with enough support. He's our last, best chance.

Jannie Jones is the 76-year-old woma
n who had to know who Representative James Clyburn was voting for in the South Carolina primary. Did her question change the Democratic presidential race?

...On Feb. 21, Ms. Jones attended the funeral of James White, Mr. Clyburn’s accountant. After serving as an usher at the service at St. John Baptist Church in Hopkins, S.C., Ms. Jones noticed Mr. Clyburn standing against a nearby wall. On the spur of the moment, she said, she waved him over, with a crook of her finger, to the pew where she was sitting.

He leaned over, and she whispered, “I need to know who you’re going to vote for.” He replied: “Joe Biden. Are we together?”

“When it’s politics, you don’t know who for who,’’ she recalled. But she said she gave him a thumbs up and then asked: “What are you going to do for him, for the people?”

At his Feb. 26 endorsement Mr. Clyburn said, “I decided then and there that I would not stay silent.”

Whether the congressman seriously weighed not giving an endorsement, the nod from Mr. Clyburn helped propel Mr. Biden, the former vice president, to a resounding win in South Carolina on Feb. 29, and to a sweep of 10 out of 14 states three days later on Super Tuesday.

Ms. Jones said that she recognized Mr. Clyburn from seeing him on television. “But he didn’t know me from Adam’s house cat,” she said. “When I got home, I didn’t think no more of it. I just thought that hearing from him meant the world for me. I didn’t know that it was a big influence for him.”

who turned out and gave Biden an impressive win in the primary, pulling him back from the brink when many were writing him off. I intend to put my money where my mouth is by taking a vacation in South Carolina and putting a little something into their economy when it is safe to travel again. It is a beautiful state with lots to see and do, and the food is fabulous. Let's show them some love!
