He was in mid vote and his pants hit the ground. This was a man with a small belly and no butt. So .. it happens. Especially when the pockets are full of coin holder and keys and all the other 90,000 things that man would stuff in his pockets. Unfortunately for him there was no curtain. Fortunately for him, he had on clean boxers.
