In Nashville,

we have a state park in the middle of town that includes a large lake. I have been hiking there for almost 25 years, at least twice a week, and sometimes more.
Late yesterday afternoon, I was on a trail and noticed some people on an adjacent trail pointing to something across the lake. I strained to see what they were seeing, assuming it was one of the majestic Great Blue Herons that live and nest there. All at once I saw it: A BALD EAGLE. In all of my years hiking there, I have never seen one before. I thought of the bald eagles that flew over Joe's speech site last week, and am taking my sighting as a very good omen.

We'll soon find out if it's a good omen or not. I think it is! n/t CaliforniaPeggy Nov 2020 #1

I saw 5 different herons-- that's my record! It was my first bald eagle in almost 25 years of hiking there.

redstateblues, we might have passed each other on the trail without ever knowing it!
