*IF* it's the worst case scenario, I figure our fate was already sealed 4 years ago

And all of this has just been rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. We’d become just a managed democracy like Russia, a rigged system that pretends to give its citizens a chance but actually protects the power structure through lies and deceit.

We’d still be stuck in a pandemic and life’s already shitty so what else could we possibly expect anyways...

...BUT...

I still believe we can win this thing.

I still believe in the fundamental goodness of people. I still believe we have a 244 year history of flawed but ever forward thinking and idealistic democracy that enough people don’t want to trade for a strongman.

I believe we nominated a good, honest and truly decent man with a strong willed and determined woman and there’s a majority of people in this country who choose that over hatred and ignorance and division.

Bottom line is that, yes, it is probably the Xanax talking but I have made my peace with whatever the outcome might be.

But I believe that we can win.

2016 was the first year I felt important enough to vote. Of course I voted for Hillary because Trump is just unacceptable. I was eligible since early 2000 but never felt it. I know I was wrong but 2016 was just that different to me.

We have are at the point of no return. Stupid people, full of hate, irrationality, and fear. I am sorry but what are you going to do if Trump is allowed to do what ever he wants. The Senate looks lost too.

I would add that we may go into years of being a minority party like the republicans after FDR. we need to leverage our strength and get victories where we can.

Minimum wage increase won in Florida ... let’s get a thousand more constitutional challenges on the ballots in every state. Let’s push our agenda state by state. Dems have always craved national power but we can do a lot at state level.

4. Still have House and good shot at Prez. But, as bad as trump was, we still survived - angry as hell,

lots of people hurting, and probably worse. But we survived.

Point is, I'm not buying a Harley and riding off lip of Grand Canyon as I plan if I am diagnosed as terminally ill, but I'm won't be happy either if we ultimately lose and it will be a long 4 years.

I was so heavily invested in 2004 election. Honestly felt suicidal for months after Kerry lost. Think that made me approach election hoping for a big win, but ready for the worst.
