And plenty of incumbents have lost, and some have even avoided running for another term because they knew that they couldn't get reelected.

This is a popular vote losing fascist who stands by while hundreds of thousands of Americans die, while he sells the country to the Russians, but he's just a normal incumbent who's hard to beat?

Fuck that narrative.

You might want to suggest evidence for such an accusation, especially considering the agressiveness that the cyber warfare unit has been reported using against enemies approaching this election.

Compare the aggregate polling to the results, and it's very depressing tonight except for Arizona.

The polls might have even been correct too, in terms of the replies and the demographic percentages, but the pro-Democratic respondents still had to actually VOTE!

I had to basically beg an old neighbor woman to finally submit her absentee ballot despite her supposed hatred for Trump.

who get paid more for COVID-related deaths.

This shouldn't be close. It shouldn't require us to argue over hanging chads a week after election day.

If, God willing, we pull this off, it's still a Pyrrhic victory. There is no overwhelming repudiation. The message the GOP will take is that their behavior cost them nothing and they would have won had it not been for a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.

2016 Clinton loss seems not to have been about Hillary;
seems to me that it was more about this nations deep, DEEP reaction to our first black president...
and that result was "No, we WANT Fascism, fuck you very much.'

Because if it was JUST about Clinton, Biden would be up, and he isn't. Its not about hating Clinton, its about loving trump and everything he represents.

America, as the best product of The Enlightenment, might very well die this week....

Minus a stint in the military. She lost, because Obama won 2 terms, and if that kind of Enlightenment Liberalism was seen to be this nation's future, the result was 'no, we will take fascism, thank you very much.' It wasnt JUST about her name, and it wasnt JUST about misogyny.. it was about the promise we made ourselves as A People, and about the FACT that a lot of our people, could give a lesser fuck about our Better Angels.

And THAT is a truly terrifying thought tonight.

So many people tried to make the last election about Hillary or about Democratic Party policy or whatever and it wasn't. All the data points to racism. I've been saying this all night. Wasn't about Hillary running a bad campaign or being a flawed candidate, unlikeable, ignoring the working class, not having enough rallies, not visiting Wisconsin enough or Democrats being out-of-touch elites or corrupt or whatever other bullshit. Or the other bullshit about just having the right candidate and then everyone will vote for the Democrat. There is no such thing.

educated poor people that work for shitty wages. Educated young people end up leaving the state for other states, with the exception of Medicine, but that field in Florida is not spinning off startups like in places like California, Oregon, Washington and Massachusetts.
