Unless I'm mistaken, in the event of a tie the House vote is based on the congressional delegations

With 26 of 50 state delegations controlled by the Republicans, a tie seems unlikely.

so we would need to flip more than one.

as they stand before the election, not afterwards.

The VP becomes acting prez until the house decides.
