ya know just asking, seeing as though, or may-be I might have been wrong, thinking there was going to be a FAWKING BLUE WAVE. Why is this election coming down to two/three states??? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???

(27,543 posts)Wait until all the counting is done. Right now, it looks like a minor polling miss in FL, but everything else is pretty close to what was being predicted. The FAWKING BLUE WAVE was a best-case scenario constructed in the echo chamber that is the Democratic internet, and those often don't pan out.
Yes, if Trump wins all of the key midwest states, and Biden only takes the popular vote by about the same margin as Clinton in 2016, I'll say the polls were pretty far off -- but we won't know if that's the case until, probably, Friday.

(35,564 posts)gawd damn cronies gone. I wanted this election to show that we are better then this orange piece of shit. I wanted to take the Presidency AND the Senate to say we ARE BETTER THEN THIS.

(4,563 posts)Not impossible, but certainly not easy. Turns out, it didn't work out, but I'm not shocked.
For example: Cunningham was up by one or tied depending on which poll you look at. And the Des Moines poll turned out to be right, unfortunately, about Ernst and Iowa. The only Senate "shocker" is Susan Collins... I have no idea what's up with that?
But I feel you; I wanted better, too.

(54,770 posts)final data, but I'd bet very positive polls reduce turnout for projected winner and increase turnout for projected loser in a divide country like ours. Don't know how much, though.
