Over 100m USD shit away on a fantasyland Senate race (SC) based off a couple dodgy polls

a nice face, decent story, and disliking Graham so much that common sense was tossed aside.

it was NEVER a 50/50 shot. I meticulously tracked the Senate for close to a year and half, and SC was never listed by me as a flippable (and I had 13 of them). That wasted money (and the 100m or whatever shit away on the McTurtle race, pumped into a flawed candidate (she launched her campaign by saying she would have fully supported and voted for drunkey rapey Kavanaugh ffs!) who, if the primary had happened a week later or so, would not even have been running against Moscow) could have helped other more cash-needy races.

200m USD or so combined shit down the loo

They'll just strap his mummified corpse to a dolly and wheel him in for votes. I never had any hope for SC because I used to live there.

2 points but still basically tied. I think Jaime Harrison knew , though. He looked sad in an interview the day before the election. Problem is that resources went to places it never should have. Don't get me started on McGrath.I was against her running from the start because she lost that House race.

Ol' Moscow Mitch is completely entrenched, and McGrath wasn't a very strong candidate. And it's Kentucky. Harrison did a little better vs. Graham, but it's South Carolina. I don't think any amount of money would have made much difference in either state.

There was a tweet this weekend that an ad during the Iowa-Northwestern football game in the Cedar Rapids market was going for $75,000 while a National ad on ESPN (the channel carrying the game) was going for less!

In Des Moines, I felt like we got flooded with Ernst ads even though Greenfield supposedly raised more money. Once again, Greenfield tried to do the "all work with Democrats AND Republicans" thing in her ad as well as "I am a good person" while Ernst had a bunch of ads tying Greenfield to the "Radical Left" and suggesting that she'd vote with Pelosi (wrong legislative branch...).

Kind of a diversion, but Ernst was a very weak incumbent and we couldn't beat her. That's probably a sign that Iowa (unfortunately) is also a place we should not be pouring money in to in the future. The Senate sucks for Democrats. The whole concept gives far too much power to white, rural states. I am not sure what the fix is, but I agree that spending big on pipe dreams like Kentucky and South Carolina is not smart politics. The problem is we basically have to win a few long shots to ever control the Senate. Would more money have got us North Carolina or Maine (if we lose it?) or were the candidates the problem? Cunningham really hurt us with his affair.

I wasn’t too sure about Amy McG, but I thought Jaime had a shot at taking down Lyndsey. Alas, I was wrong.

At least most of my dough went to party infrastructure and other candidates.

Granny D (Doris Haddock) walked from California to Washington DC for campaign finance reform. In April of 2001 she was arrested in the Rotunda of Congress while reading the Constitution. She started her walk when she was 90 at the end of the Rosebowl Parade.

Harrison, however. Should have performed better. Though it was a miracle he even got so close to begin with.
