Truth is it's not so much a red vs. blue thing, it's more of a white thing.

Full disclosure: I'm white. Been white practically all my life. (that was a joke see).

White women lied to pollsters. Big time.

America has a huge racism problem. Always has. And killing it ain't easy.

Early on, there was widespread support. But when a small fraction of the protests went the way of violence and looting, it played right into Trump's hands. Even though it was a fraction of the protests, it was enough film footage for FOX and Trump to scare the shit out of suburbia.

The work is a lot more difficult and a lot less fun than political horse-races every two years, though, which is really saying something.

Here's what I'm left with:

This country, our America, has one of the thinnest social safety nets of any high minded society. And it's shrinking, quickly. And I think white people (I'm white see) use their racism as a sort of safety blanket. To get a bigger share of the good stuff. And, it's a scary old world out there if they're left on their own. The fear forces them to bind together. NO MATTER WHAT.

And, so, here we are.

If that's equal to racism, and maybe it is among many white evangelicals (?), then we could both be correct.

The evangelicals were almost 42% of all white voters! Holy crap, that's significantly higher than their overall percentage! So they obviously voted at a much higher rate than other white people! And they were the main cause of 65% of the voters being white, which is also higher than their percentage of the population.

Religion can be a POWERFUL motivator!

And per algebra of the exit polls, almost 60% of the white NON-evangelicals voted for Biden!

Only about 2% of Europeans are evangelical! That continent looks better to me every day!

Edit: And I'm sure that nobody will acknowledge the RELIGION problem in this country here, as usual... afraid to offend the religious-minded!

a Hispanic thing. Kids in cages...means nothing to the Florida Hispanic community, it seems. Yet, Florida's Hispanic community has ALWAYS been conservative. So I'm not surprised at the vote numbers. The racism that pervades amerikkkan culture has at least finally shown the world who we truly are. Fascist, racist, sexist, stupid, ignorant and ugly.

How can we have such a wide swing from all those positive polls predicting a Biden/Harris landslide? And to me the elephant in the room appears to be the fear that those very people voting for trump have at the spectre of a possible female POC as POTUS.

I was keeping it to myself all these months, but now that Amerikkka has shown me trump is no anomaly I owe no one civility when it comes to this election.
