Susan Collins, according to the NY Times, is below 50%, which means ranked-choice voting, kicks in, and 26% of the total votes still remain to be counted.
Gideon is getting the large majority of mail ballots, and only half the counties have reported that.
There's plenty of chances here, aren't there?

(7,715 posts)But also, if Collins is below 50%, RCV kicks in that favors Sara Gideon, or so I thought?

(13,025 posts)we don't know what to expect to discern whether or not she can win because of RCV. All i can tell is she's behind Collins by alot.

(46,023 posts)Even though we have it in my city. I would guess that, if the third party folks choose Gideon as their second choice, Gideon would win. Right?

(33,252 posts)If no candidate is >50%, then the 2nd choices of the candidates who finish BELOW the top 2 (Collins & Gideon) get assigned.
RCV is an instant run-off election. None of this GA BS.
