(10,500 posts)Read this re: how Rove stole the 2004 election and how he tried (and failed) to do the same in 2012. I remember the hacking group Anonymous claiming to have prevented a mad in the middle attack in 2012 (for Ohio). With a corrupt officials in high places, this is depressingly easy to do. We need to address our easy hackable electronic voting infrastructure. Paper ballots and manual audits.

(2,019 posts)They were a group of hackers who claimed a few days after that election that they had hacked into a web site that Karl Rove and his minions were going to use on election night to tweak the vote count in a few critical states to swing the election to Mitt Romney. Their claim was that they had erected a password-protected firewall on that site, and on election night there were 105 unsuccessful attempts to get past the firewall. I don't know for sure if their claim was true, but it does explain some things. Karl Rove's election night meltdown on Fox, for example, when he found out that Ohio had been called for Obama. Ohio was one of the states Rove's minions were supposed to fix.
If the Anonymous claim was true, I thought, well, the cheaters will make damn sure that doesn't happen again.
What has happened since then? Well, 2016, and now, 2020.
I think you very well might be right, and this was a blue wave election and Biden won by a big margin and the Democrats just won the Senate. And those polls that the pundits are scratching their heads over were not really wrong, after all.
If it wasn't this, it was something. There was something that was happening behind the scenes last night that was not on the up-and-up. I'm not quite sure about this, but I strongly suspect it.

(3,413 posts)Rove responds to reports he's advising Trump campaign
BY J. EDWARD MORENO - 05/22/20 11:39 AM EDT
Former White House strategist Karl Rove pushed back Friday at reports that said he is advising the Trump campaign, but said he does give unvarnished advice to Trump's campaign when it contacts him.
Rove said he is friends with Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, and that Parscale calls him from time to time.

"The idea that Im somehow deeply engrained in the Trump campaign
Ive got a busy life with Fox and Wall Street Journal and speeches, added Rove, a political contributor to Fox News and a columnist for the Journal.
When Benson asked if it would be fair to say he was "occasionally informally advising the Trump campaign, Rove responded, I think thats even too far."

All they do is lie and cheat. For power, fame and money.
