As much as I admit the phenomenon exists, I've always disliked the phrase "toxic masculinity"...

...because, no matter how much you may explain that it's only talking about a particular and specific uber-macho mindset, a significant number of people who hear it will translate it as "being a male makes you automatically evil" and have a knee-jerk reaction against you because of it.

However, while looking at America today, can anyone deny that the driving force behind Trumpism is that very toxic masculinity? It seems his whole appeal is to being a "strong man" (you can compress that to one word if you want) who isn't afraid to throw his power around and impose his will on anyone he can? And those who support him seem to think that makes them just as "strong" as him.
