Nightmare scenario: Biden wins AZ and NV and gets to 270, and we have a Faithless Elector

Trump would have to sweep the rest, so it's still rather unlikely. However, if he does, just one Biden Faithless Elector would throw it into State House Delegations, where Republicans hold a majority. I believe the Senate would then pick the Vice President, but correct me if I'm wrong.

If Trump is selected, riots would erupt everywhere. I'm talking full-blown Civil War 2. Think it can't happen? In 2016 Hillary Clinton, lost five of her Electors.

But the Senate would no-doubt vote for Mike Pence.

They can fine or even jail them, but they still can happen in most states.

The House could refuse to seat some members in order to shift the state delegation vote in Biden’s favor.

If an elector is pledged to a losing candidate or a winning candidate with a comfortable margin, it's a matter of trivia if a one or a few don't vote the way they are supposed to.

Massively different if it changes the outcome.

Aside from the fact that in most states the legislature can replace a faithless elector, I really don't think anyone would dare.

They can switch to anyone and it would bring it to a 269-269 tie. If they switch to Trump, it's even worse. That's an outright win for him. Keep in mind 5 Hillary Electors switched in 2016.

And given that the Electors are not simply chosen at random, I think you might as well say something like, what if pigs could fly?
