2. Honestly, don't think there ever were 300K ballots. I'm sure no one wants to hear this, but

Philadelphia Inquirer:

“But it’s likely that these statistics seem worse than they actually are, the [Postal] officials said. To quickly get ballots to election officials this week, the service bypassed its processing center in Southwest Philadelphia. Instead, employees in local post offices manually sorted and postmarked the ballot envelopes, then immediately delivered them to boards of elections the same day, according to postal officials.

However, this meant those ballots were likely scanned in, but never scanned out, since they bypassed the rest of the system. Or as the service put it, the “local turnaround” "expedites delivery, but is not captured in service performance data.”

“Additionally, given the extraordinary measures the Postal Service instituted this week to ensure the timely return of ballots, the stark drop-off from last week to Tuesday doesn’t appear to add up. Employees at the Southwest Philadelphia said that Postal Inspectors had monitored daily ballot returns for the last week. . . . . .”

No one has found any proof of these 300K ballots not being delivered. If someone has a citation, would love to see it.

Also, if they exist(ed) that means local postal employees did it. DeJoy is as ignorant/crooked as trump, but he wasn’t at all these post offices to hide ballots.

11. Well, the truth is the truth,

but I would still like it looked into by an outside audit to confirm. What is amusing is that this accusation is derided by the Right at the moment because Biden is behind in PA. Should the count flip to Biden, expect this become the #1 talking point, harped on every 30 seconds by Trump and Fox.

Sullivan doesn't let this go.

DeJoy did not comply with the Judge's decision, he should be questioned about this.

7. There were never 300,000

That was the count of ballot mail that had been scanned as entering the system but had not been scanned as delivered.

They were reportedly delivering a little over 100k ballots per day... which fits if you assume that the average ballot takes a couple of days to be delivered (ranging anywhere from the next day for people living nearby to 3-4 days for true "absentee" ballots mailed across the country).

So the 300k were never "missing". They were in the "mailstream" and that was just a measure of how many were in postal hands at the time. The "sweeps" were to find ballots that were incorrectly outside of the normal flow (left on a truck outside... in a bin that didn't go into the sorters... whatever) - and that turned up a dozen or so.

10. There's definitely a problem at the USPS
Thu Nov 5, 2020, 09:22 AM

But it's around the margins. Say... a ballot mailed from Florida to New Jersey should take two days and they define success as 99% of such ballots arriving within two days... but their actual performance is only 85%. But the remaining 15% took three days.

That's not acceptable... but it also isn't something that will impact a given race with thousands of lost ballots. If a Florida House member loses by 20 votes, there's a chance that poor mail delivery made the difference. But the people who are talking about Florida switching to Biden statewide if the USPS hadn't gamed the system... are misguided.

12. Agree. DeJoy is a problem and the Postal Service has been hit hard by CV19.

"Poorly Protected Postal Workers Are Catching COVID-19 by the Thousands. It’s One More Threat to Voting by Mail.
More than 50,000 [Postal] workers have taken time off for virus-related reasons, slowing mail delivery. The Postal Service doesn’t test employees or check their temperatures, and its contact tracing is erratic.

9. REMEMBER - Trump said himself there were secretly dumped balolots....

And we know when he accuses others of something specific, it's because it is something illegal or corrupt he is involved in or aware of.

They dumped the ballots. Wouldn't be hard, nor take a lot of people.
