American deaths from Covid-19 are approaching a quarter of a million.
While some would have died, one man is responsible for this virtually unimaginable number of deaths.
Yet, close to half this country voted for that beast.
Ignorance is one thing. Absolute stupidity and not giving a fuck about other human beings is something else.
Dear fellow Americans who voted for Trump and Republicans: I no longer give a damn about you. I don't care if you live or die. You've used up my last ounce of sympathy/empathy. I despise your so-called "values," and I resent having to share this world with you. My hope is that you are devoured by your own hatreds.

I can't help but consider the words of Nietzche though. When I look in a mirror, I don't want to see a Picture of Dorian Gray, so to speak. It is easy to go that route when we are surrounded by scoundrels and fools in a culture of consumerism and greed.
Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.

Religion strongly motivates some people, as shown throughout history, crazy-thinking or not.

(14,856 posts)She eagerly cast her vote for Trump, in-person, the same day that she received her absentee ballot in the mail. She's NOT a mean, racist-type, but she very obediently follows the directions of her religious leaders. (She's just very adept at putting on "blinders" for anything that could shake her weird ideas.)
I avoid politics with her because it's been proven pointless in the past. Plus she was basically a surrogate mother for me when I was a toddler, since our mother wasn't very touchy-feely with her kids (but a great provider in other ways), so I just can't throw her away.
Agree about taxing them! I think those kinds of proposals are how evangelical Jimmy Carter and the Democrats lost them years ago to Reagan, but screw it. They're basically married to the Republican party now anyway.
