(13,560 posts)She would be great at getting national Democrats organized and ready for as many governors and Senate races as possible in 2022.

(53,410 posts)Ive always felt we need her skills on the National level doing big ass time work. Like a cabinet position would be just too restrictive for her immense talents and abilities. She will be great at what she does no matter what that is, so put her in a big role directly beneficial to all the country.

(31,979 posts)My guess is that we either win both or lose both.
I donated to both candidates and willing to donate more but I understand that out of state donations, especially from the much hated California ( hated by the right ), are being used to hurt our candidates and played a role in Kentucky.

(7,006 posts)Seriously?
lapfog_1
(31,979 posts)it is a serious question... direct donations are a matter of public record.
I can either send money to both candidates OR send money to an "issues" PAC without the need to disclose the originator's location.
It is what they do to us all the time.
LovingA2andMI
(7,006 posts)Either Donate or Not. Campaign Donations are Public Records. Next....

(13,105 posts)...from controlling all three branches. I suspect that will be hard to combat, since non-political types like the idea of "balance." Obviously all the Repub and Dem partisans will be motivated as you expect, but if the swing depends on appealing to the unaffiliated middle, I fear we will have an uphill battle convincing enough "average Georgians" that it would be best to give the Dems all 3 branches. But stranger things have happened...
lapfog_1
(31,979 posts)and he isn't on the ballot... will the Trumpublicans still be motivated to vote for Trump supporting Senate candidates?
BTW, when will the runoff be held? One election I presume. And what are the state requirements for residency before voting? If I move this week, could I register and vote in the runoff?
I would be willing to move to Georgia and vote Democratic. I work remotely, rent my apartment here... and there is NO need for me to live any particular place. And, as a bonus, as a Georgia resident (my mother was born in Georgia!) I could contribute directly to the campaigns...

Taking those two Senate Seats is pretty much imperative. Adding in the flips in CO and AZ.....

(13,105 posts)...but in terms of elections, I'm not sure he's highly motivated to spend his money for much beyond getting Trump out of office.

(2,254 posts)It'll depends on the voter turnout for each side.
Will trumpers show up for an election that has no trump? Will we?

At least until these elections take place?

(3,463 posts)Perdue's term will expire on January 3, and this runoff won't be until the 5th. Won't he technically be out of office?
Loeffler was appointed to fill a term that doesn't expire, so I expect she'll still be seated.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

(15,854 posts)Just a psychological lift its not impossible to win in Georgia anymore. Your vote matters. Georgia is a blue state now. Etc.
bucolic_frolic
(55,807 posts)We lost seats in the House, and the Senate was disappointing to say the least.
Here's the explanation that I'm settling on:
Republicans overperformed in this election because
1) Trump had Republican coattails even though many Republicans voted for Joe Biden, and
2) Trump brought more Republicans to the polls than would otherwise occur because he is so polarizing.
This election may well prove to be the high water mark of Republican turnout and the Republican Party.
So we do stand a chance in Georgia. Let's make the most of it.
