For everyone who is still wondering how almost half the country could vote for Fat Hitler

It doesn't matter what you heard on the news or what every single one of yours or my republican acquaintances told you or me. I'm talking about the people who voted for Trump the first time but said they were not going to vote for him this time. I don't believe their line of bullshit for a second because once they got into the booth, I highly suspect that 99% of them filled in the oval next to Trump, and this is why:

The reason they voted for a murderous monster the first time is the same reason why they voted for him again. More money in their pocket, so they think. More racism, etc, too, but mostly about the money. They might have told you and me that they weren't voting for Trump this time, but that was mostly out of embarrassment.

IMO, the great majority of those who said they would switch their votes this time are nothing more than bullshitters. Honestly, how on earth can you ever trust the word of any person who voted for Trump the first time? You can't. You just can't trust anyone who is only in it for themselves and no one else, someone who is only in it for the money or whatever dumb reason secretly tucked away in their heads. I'm sure there are exceptions, though, a few. Anyway, IMO the reason or reasons they voted for him the first time are the same exact reasons they voted for him again.

So if you're wondering how almost half of the country voted for a murderous lying monster once again, I honestly believe that's your reason. The money, the racism, or whatever other demented reason they voted for him the first time was just too tempting for them to ever switch their vote this time.

We just have to continue our hard work getting more and more honest people to register as Democrats and ignoring all the bullshitters out there. Moral of the story: Don't ever believe what a Trump voter tells you because more than likely, they are nothing much more than a bullshitter.

For any new people that come in to my life, I guess it’s going to be “Hello. Nice to meet. Did you vote for Trump?”

The thought of reconciliation and peace and unity IS truly a wonderful thing. But it takes TWO sides; not just one.

and uninformed.

I was looking at that mass of red states who went to Trump they will never learn, voting against their best interests, they just don't care. They are totally cut from a different cloth. Sorry to say that but it's true.

That is why tRump calls them his base. Just a cult, and we all know what happens to cults.

It's all about the misinformation and willful ignorance. Guns, God and Hate. The right has been indoctrinated to HATE Liberals. That is why they vote for ANYTHING with an R behind their names.

I completely accept the bottom line of the OP and the spirit in which it is offered, but I don't think money has much to do with this.

They love Trump because he has the same enemies they do. ("owning the Libs" )
"Religious freedoms" (translation: Christian Privilege)
The Racism Agenda
Guns
Hate and terror of "globalization", "socialism" and "tyrannical government"

Living in a blistering red area, I see up close what the Trumpsters value. Many of them live in dilapidated homes and don't even know the names of our stock markets.

it's mostly about the money, and they have let me know it. For example, with one of them who loves to diss immigrants, he always says that he hates to see one penny of his hard earned money go to those awful immigrants. With other of my acquaintances and former republican friends, the conversation was always about their fucking stocks or how much money they save in their taxes when Republicans are in charge. Shallow self-serving greedy people, all of them.

All three think he's an awful human and all three voted for him because they want lower taxes. These folks live in SC, CO, and NJ. So, yeah. It's a thing.

He has 2 liberal parents, but grew up in Red state Alaska. He is an actor too. I think he is amazingly gifted in acting, speaking, artistic, so it stumps me. I wonder what kind of fascist or racist tendencies he must have to do that. There are many Native Americans in Alaska, but other than that, it is white bread republican.

And there obviously is a lot of it. It’s clear as day to us that he is the worst President in our lifetime, but we’re judging him along normal lines of what a President should and shouldn’t be. His supporters are mainlining him for totally different reasons.

I’m traumatized by the amount and the depth of support this guy has. It’s time to acknowledge it, understand why and improve things. This is not a plea to understand the Trump voter in particular, just humans in general; American humans at this stressful point in time.

My two cents: We need to get much better as a party at connecting with people on an emotional level and not let it all ride on policy, virtue and better angels. Because right now Trump and the RW media machine are claiming far too much mindshare and it’s warping life for all of us. I think we need more of this for example, AOC turning her makeup routine into a TED talk, generating 20k comments and love from around the world:

As has been shown on national television, a 10 year old can flip the votes on electronic voting machines in under 5 minutes. With all the corrupt politicians we have particularly in red states, you'll never convince me that this did not go on with domestic or foreign assistance or both. Why do you think Dump and the GOP were trying to stop us from using paper ballots? They had to fire the head of USPS and plant one of their stooges so he could screw with the ballots that way. And we know DeJoy will be having to answer for all the ballots left behind so they wouldn't be counted in the battleground states. Then he defied the judges orders to provide access to retrieve them. Now Dumpy's trying to stop the count. They know the only way they can win is to cheat. As with Obama, the people showed up in droves and overwhelmed their plans. But, it is really sad that he even got whatever number of votes he legally got being the despicable specimen of a human being he is.
