Sobering Fresh Air interview

Jack Goldberg and Bob Bauer, two attorneys associated with the Obama and Bush administrations, have a new book, “After Trump: Reconstructing the Presidency”. Goldberg was interviewed by Terry Gross and she asked him what were his immediate concerns before Trump leaves office. His list:

1) Blanket pardons for everyone who is under a cloud in his administration, including himself. This will be an end run around federal prosecutions.

2) Use of the War Powers Act.

3) Taking with him and leveraging to his own profit national security information. Goldberg floated the idea that Trump could start a “consultancy.” As much of a joke as that sounds, this is truly frightening given Trump’s never-ending anger, grudge-holding, and lust for revenge, as well as the shit-ton of debt he has coming due.

4) Hindering, or refusing to participate in, the transition.

He can get up to all kinds of fuckery that we really don’t have an answer to, because who coukd ever have imagined such an unstable man becoming POTUS?

a catch him trying to sell state secrets. I’m convinced he’ll end up in Leavenworth one way or another.

As a private citizen, Trump would be charged with espionage among other things. He doesn't have the intellect to pull it off.
