Nov 5th, 2020

In President Donald Trumps second loss in court in a single day, a Michigan judge rejected the Trump campaigns bid to stop counting ballots without their inspectors present. The judge scoffed at plaintiffs hearsay evidence that a lawyer said she heard from a poll worker regarding dates supposedly changed on ballots.
I heard someone else say something,' Michigan Judge Cynthia Stephens said on Thursday, summing up an affidavit submitted by the Trump campaign. Tell me how that is not hearsay. Come on now!
An attorney for the Democratic National Committee, seeking to intervene in the case, argued that the Trump campaign lacked factual support.
No evidence in the record would allow the court to find a likelihood of success on the merits, the DNCs counsel Kevin Hamilton said in court.

(82,849 posts)"I heard someone else say something" isn't good, solid evidence in a court of law?! What strange sorcery is this? Next you'll tell me that Trump's oft-repeated tales of toughguys approaching him with tears in their eyes and their heart-breaking stories that invariably begin with the toughguy calling him "Sir" may not be reliable. Many people are saying that can't possibly be hearsay. Donald Trump has consulted with dozens of lawyers, the best lawyers, and none of them have even heard of this "hearsay" concept!

(6,643 posts)you actually have to prove your conspiracies in federal and state court with testimony or at least admissible affidavit factual allegations at this stage of the litigation

(6,686 posts)I'm certainly not a lawyer, and even I know what "hearsay" means.
They should have watched more Perry Mason episodes.

Maybe a lot of his lawyers are also Liberty grads. Just sayin'. They don't have much of a reputation for sharp legal minds.

I suspect most of the attorneys that like trump and know anything about him expect their work would be pro bono.

But I read this post on Facebook, that had a meme of a guy on Twitter, who said his sister said she saw a poll worker throw a ballot into the trash can!
