It's Trump voters. Do you really want to appeal to people who are attracted by a narcissistic, racist, traitor? Joe Biden has been an excellent candidate, and he is winning. Some of the other races are a disappointment, but I can't believe there is anything we can do to appeal to them that wouldn't be thoroughly immoral and disgusting.

(57,780 posts)to suck people in through appeal to a charismatic leader that, in most cases, maintains the system. In Trump's case, it feeds Trump.

(57,780 posts)Here in MN, early votes are paper ballots. Day of ballots are also paper, and the voter feeds them through a scantron machine.
I think we have to admit there is something truly fucked up about nearly half of the American people.

(73,943 posts)i would assume it is the same in most states.
you just cant have a few polling elections w multiple ballots.
it is too likely to be f'd up. touchscreen displays all ballot configurations.
but if it makes you feel better to overestimate the number of jerks in the populace instead of criminals in the thug party, go ahead on.

(93,908 posts)Of course Biden cares about those working for him, volunteers and supporters so he wasn't going to have them risk their lives .
But this is an important point to consider and how we could have gotten more votes if we had done that.
The ground campaign applies to other races also .
People like Beto O'Rourke and Stacey Abrams are working hard to help build our party up . Even when they lost they continued to fight harder including for other democrats .
That's what we need to do .

(57,780 posts)In the states. It simply wasn't practical to do door knocking in the age of COVID. They used other methods to reach out to voters. Here they were even giving voters rides to the polls.
I will say their data for the phone bank system sucked, and the thru talk dailer never worked. So much so they completely gave up on it for GOTV. God knows how many millions they spent on that thing.

(93,908 posts)just that it's one of the reasons we didn't get higher numbers.

(7,449 posts)The Democrats did everything prety close to righ. Yes, some slipups, but the fact is, a huge number of people PREFER the autocracy and chaos, and/or are gullible to open lies. Period. The only ones to blame for all of this is *THEM*

(20,663 posts)His vote total went from 800,000 in 2016 to 890,000 in 2020. If they're all getting sucked into this QAnon bullshit, I have no desire to reach out in an effort to appeal to them in any way.
