Remember Back In 2000 When Gore Asked For A Recount In Florida?

How did Republicans respond to that? They were incredulous that he would even DARE SUGGEST that the vote count may not be accurate. They formed mobs outside the recount centers and tried to force their way in. They engaged in full-scale mocking of Gore, making signs that said "Sore Loserman" and other vile things. They flooded the airwaves of all the various media raking Gore over the coals for having the audacity to ask for the recount to which he was entitled, saying he should just accept the fact that he lost, shut up and go away.

Now flash forward to today. Now that the shoe's on the other foot, notice who's NOT doing ANY of those things. In fact, Joe Biden has said multiple times that he wants all the votes counted, INCLUDING in Wisconsin (where Trump has asked for a recount). No mocking. No mobbing. No calls of, "You lost, get over it," and "Shut up and go away."

As I see people on social media trying to "both sides" things tonight, this is all I can think of.

walked away. There weren't US Senators calling for direct actions to bypass the will of the people.

That was the one state where I considered that Putin might have found a way to change the outcome of the election.

Sometimes I wonder if we shouldn't engage in a bit of that, although honestly it's not my thing.

Then it's actually them out there creating chaos. I can't imagine what it will be like when the race is called for Biden.

And as a member of the MSM back then I can tell you that the butterfly ballots was a big distraction. They were finding suitcases in the ocean..

Hated republicans ever since then and will never vote for one. Bush stole the presidency from Al Gore.

earlier in life. I would say probably around age 11 when I moved to NC and had to deal with a lot of young trashy republicans. I can say proudly at age 37 I have never voted for a Republican in my whole entire life.

It took time though, and we needed one more to make sure they were counted correctly. Then the SC stopped us.
