(4,286 posts)Yes, the reporting on NC frankly sucks. I read one report yesterday that they think there are about 30k mail in ballots still to be returned. Are they counting and reporting them as they come in? Who the hell knows because all the concentration is on GA and PA. Maybe someone in NC can educate us?

(27 posts)NC allows ballots to come in any time up to November 12 to be counted if they have been postmarked by Election Day. I think there plan is to be processing ballots while they come in. They might update the total number received . The last I heard they had 117,000 mail in ballots and 40,000 provisional. Given how the mail works they could still be receiving ballots tomorrow from last week.
If the numbers go up drastically , say from 117,000 to 200,000 Cunningham has a chance if they are from blue counties. It would be like Michigan , Penn or Georgia which went between 70% to 80% blue. He needs some more ballots to come in to have a realistic chance.
I think they could update how many ballots they received post Election Day by tomorrow

(26,044 posts)...and, frankly, that works to our advantage because it gives Trumpers less ability to claim that all vote-counting needs to end on election night. I mean, if a mostly-Republican-governed state is able to wait until ten days after the election, what are your grounds for claiming that Democratic-majority states are illegitimate for waiting five days?
