Does this mean we can finally write off Florida and not spend 95% of every election night focused on just one state? So over it

Plus most of them are “pre-Boomers” in their late 70s and up, the generation still holding firm to their racist and sexist “values”. Most of the men are veterans. I think Florida will improve when that generation is gone.

All blue metro areas—including Jacksonville—and we made gains in all of them with the notable and unfortunate exception of Miami Dade.

And even there, we don’t know if all the mail in votes were counted.

Sorry, but we’re still extremely relevant.

I'd give up on Ohio much quicker, and I don't want to give up here either.

Edit: Spend more resources elsewhere, but don't give up!

As for OH, unfortunately it is red now.
There are a few blue urban counties stuck in a sea of red. My county voted for Biden by ~ 30 points. But it's not enough to overcome all the rural vote.

Maybe the white evangelical idiots won't designate the next GOP candidate as their beloved anti-Christ?

Per exit polls, Biden won nearly 60% of the white non-evangelicals. It was the evangelical freaks who came out in force for Trump yet again.

developing people state wide, not just in the democratic strongholds. The only time there seems to be any focus in the state is every 4 years with the presidential races and then almost exclusively on the presidential race. In 2017 12 Florida counties had no formal party organization. There are counties basically surrendered to the GOP. Even the gubernatorial races are just focused on the strong holds. State leadership charges high fees for candidates to have access to democratic voter information. A recent disgraced party chair got his position because of his status as a donor, membership in a fundraising group and personal relationships with high ranking part members. They had to break party by laws to make it possible for him to get the position. He then had to resign due to sexual harassment claims. It's easy to blame the voters but the state party leadership isn't leading.

MI, WI, PA and OH - if we win, flipping at least 2 of them back helped a lot more.

TX and FL and AZ are ok to try for, but not at the expense of ignoring swing states.

Leah Greenberg, co-founder of Indivisible, puts it this way:

Reminder that in every state that didn't go blue this year there are dedicated, brilliant, passionate activists and organizers working to build power in their communities, year in and year out. Respect, support, and invest in them.

And this should go without saying but keep your snide comments about states that are "beyond saving" to yourself. There are people fighting for them, and if you can't help you can get out of the way.

In FL, we need to get far more local elected officials to buttress a longer term effort to flip the state. Ignore those Cuban Americans entirely (they hated Castro but love Trumpy? Fuckin' idiots) and focus on younger folks (us baby boomers) now moving into FL. Hey, the big influx of 'blue' voters into TX is what made us almost flip this formerly all-red state. Same applies in FL but at a slower pace.
