Philadelphia - City of Brotherly Love, Liberty Bell - Let Freedom Ring!!!!!

I am so proud of the city where I went to University founded by Benjamin Franklin - University of Pennsylvania!!!! A proud Penn Quaker!!!

Where I learned how great a Philly Cheesesteak at 1AM on South Street is tastier than anything and that it’s a city that not just as where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed, now just saved our democracy...

I am crying and smiling right now....

Full Lyrics to “Streets of Philadelphia” - Bruce Springsteen

I was bruised and battered
I couldn't tell what I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
Saw my reflection in a window
And didn't know my own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me wastin' away
On the streets of Philadelphia?
I walked the avenue, 'til my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Just as black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia
Ain't no angel gonna greet me
It's just you and I my friend
And my clothes don't fit me no more
A thousand miles just to slip this skin
The night has fallen, I'm lyin' awake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia?

I lived on Broad Street, pretty much an equal distance from the Base and Center City. Of course, it was made MORE memorable because I was there during the Atlantic City 'mob war'.

Hopefully I will be able to go back, some day.

or that it was death to your Broadway shows!

If they get out the vote this time, it is again the cradle of Liberty!

Time constraints have prevented me from visiting in the past. I’ve got to make concrete plans and take in the full Philadelphia experience.

The city has huge problems with racism and Trumpers who live there in addition to it's other problems, but it is overall a spectacular city filled to the brim with history, art, culture, and the world's best sports teams. I was born and raised there, though now I live 45 mins away, and I am always proud of my hometown.
