Reporting from Center City Philly:

I stepped outside to grab a bite to eat, and people were in a genuinely good mood for the first time since I can remember. As I was waiting for my sandwich, a truck came up the street and from it was blaring a message to all Philadelphians to thank them for their votes and to appreciate those who were doing the counting at the convention center. I have to say this is really terrific.

I’m so very proud of my city for coming through For president elect Biden in a spectacular way.

So it's very fitting that the overthrow of tyranny would happen there again

Frank Rizzo was a minor league despot compared to Trump, but unpleasant to remember. The ex-cop who never quite transitions to civilian before becoming a politician and wants to rule instead of govern.

My dad worked for an engineering company after he retired from the police force and was transferred to Philly. My late husband and I went to visit them a few times and I fell in love with it. My folks loved it, too, and were disappointed when he was transferred to Oklahoma City.

For those of you too young to remember..

Word went out all over that everyone was heading to Woodstock for all these great bands and great drugs. People all over the country hopped in their cars and headed out.

This feels like it should be such a party in Philly.

Growing up, I always rooted for the Pittsburgh teams (I am a Detroit fan) because my dad and I used.to watch them on Monday Night Football and Baseball. Then one day I went to Philly and it all flipped. Now I root for Philly over Pittsburgh. What a town! What great people! (It also doesn't hurt if your sister is friends with Terry Gross, who gives you a personal your of WHHY).

WISH I WAS THERE!

governing will be the work. Democrats everywhere are going to have to roll up their sleeves and put their shoulders to the wheels of government to make it work for everyone again.
