Will he turn on his own base?

This is the guy who NEVER accepts blame. Always the best people, until he gets fed up and fires them.

Can he control his natural instinct to blame *his own base* for not turning out in enough numbers to re-elect him?

I'll give it a 50/50 chance he ultimately turns on them. That would spoil some of his future fund-raising from the marks, but this is also the guy with virtually no long term vision, like, say, right before an election maybe you shouldn't tell a key state (PA) that you'll deprive them of resources from the federal govt just because they made it hard to hold a rally...

And we should do all we can to encourage that schism.

I figured that was inevitable. He can't help himself, he has to alienate everyone he can. Its like he is programmed to do whatever leaves him alone and miserable.

That he was just a con man all along.
Similar to the rise and fall of Sarah Palin- the lie eventually gets exposed.

This is where we're at with the Republican party. His base aren't Republicans, but Trumpers. Another way of looking at it, the Republican party is now split up. The Trumper wing of it, and then the other Republicans (the Lincoln Project wing).

He and his idiot sons want to start a network.

Don't forget, tRump loves attention, and the only ones who will pay him attention are his diehard base. He needs that.

He won't turn on his base.

Only because I think, he will continue to be the ultimate carnival barker...he needs his marks to fund his future endeavors, whether that be a run in 2024 or a television network to try to rival Fox. He's not so dumb that he would cut off his revenue source

To re-elect him. They just want to have fun and feel all big and tough. Asking for money is a sign of weakness.
