Worth watching, especially if you've never seen it. Trying to get my Republican family and friends to watch this. Difficult but so helpful.

(14,624 posts)until I remembered that, right after this, McConnell and the other puke thugs held a dinner and vowed to block everything President Obama tried to do. I dont know if McCain joined that dinner, but fuck all of them. They hated PBO just because he was black and had the audacity to run. Fuck them all forever.

(7,365 posts)Just because? Not even close.
They are treating and WILL treat Biden, an "old white guy" with much the same disdain. Yes, I know there are a lot of racist Republicans and I know the intolerance is quite palpable with them, but it's not that simple. They believe anyone with a contrary world viewpoint to their own to be evil, treasonous, enemies of the state, to be hated, even persecuted, be that person white or black. Obama was a communist so is Joe Biden. Wash, rinse, repeat. It's mostly about ideology with them. This is why this fascist movement is less about "cleansing the blood of the nation" rather than fortifying a cultural paradigm that still holds considerable sway in our public while being rejected by the majority.

(14,853 posts)Oh, the insanity! The Democrat won, and he's black too!
It wasn't even close, you damn GOP freaks!
I just watched videos of the concessions by Carter, Mondale, Dukakis and Kerry. Totally different reaction from the crowds! Their focus was applauding their guy and showing him love for the effort!
I'm not bothering with Gore or Clinton because at least they lost despite winning the popular vote, so any hard feelings should be anticipated! (Plus I recall Gore finally conceding on TV without a big audience.)
Edit: And Clinton too! Lots of applause for her, little "the world is over" BS from the crowd! (I personally never saw it before because I was so sad.)
