CNN (King/Blitzer/etc) having to awkwardly explain

why the race hasn’t been called.

“We need to be super, super sure that Tinkerbell isn’t going to sprinkle fairy dust on the vote totals and magically give Trump tons of extra ones.”

I think every news outlet has been burned at one time or another by Trump. He'll say something that strongly implies some despicable point of view, and someone will report that he said the despicable thing. Then Trump gleefully goes all "fake news" and denies that he actually said the despicable thing. The media have learned to be really cautious, because Trump is as crafty as the worst message board trolls you might come across. Nobody wants to get out over their skis and they're fearful that a premature call might be jinxed or Trump will pull some miracle comeback, and they'll be left with egg on their faces.

I'm confident there are behind-the-scenes discussions, perhaps even heated discussions, about getting the scoop versus getting shafted by a ridiculous turn of events.

FUCK the MSM.

All I can think of is what and where we would be if Al Gore had been President.

No wonder he does it all the friggin time all his life. He gets away with it. No one else would be afforded this treatment but trump is special.

Did Chris Hayes just say it wouldn't be called for a 'few weeks'. That is unacceptable.

Neither of my kids had tantrum beyond their first or second one and it is all about a clear line and can well be done in love and then it is painless for the little one so really the humane thing to do. I do not get peoples thought process on this. Calling it matters. Now we have the SC stepping in it and that matters. I am not going to pretend none of these things matter cause we are 'fraid of the little whimpering commander in chief wetting himself.

We didn’t have mail in ballots anywhere near volume of 2020, needing processing and ultra-accuracy.

I think we are being overcritical. Besides, it doesn’t matter. Even GOPers know trump has lost, whether they admit it or not.

In a staff note, Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll described AP’s election night vote count and other coverage:

“The race calls were a stone cold thing of beauty, culminating in the ultimate call that put AP ahead of all others when the margins were sometimes no bigger than an eyelash.”
