(4,897 posts)The 16th (Lincoln) and 32nd (FDR) were both great presidents, so if you're into numerology, Joe would do great things. He's going to do great things no matter if he's 46, 47, or 48th president.

(57,079 posts)But even he has said he is a transitional President. It's going to get even better. Thank goodness Biden was/is ready to get us through these times.

[ ... ] he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.
A President can't pardon an impeachment.
My guess is similar to another comment, below, that trump's ego won't let him resign and allow Pence to take the office. He'll pardon himself, if he is convinced he committed any federal crimes, and then stomp off to sulk.

(6,699 posts)To actually have someone back in the White House who comprehends "government"...and how to get things done ethically. Such a relief.
I'm so happy for Joe...and thrilled for the whole world.

(48,999 posts)Biden is center field in Democratic politics, though definitely hovering around the right side of centerfield. However, he is nimble and lithe and capable of keeping the party united and of uniting the country to the extent that it is unifiable in the current situation.
Biden has stamina and plays the long game.
