Not saying Trump would win again, but if he wanted to win the GOP primary in 2024 he absolutely would.

If Trump wants to run in 2024 there isn't a single Republican challenger who will come close to beating him. All he has to do is keep his rally train going for the next 4 years and keep his MAGA cult champing at the bit to get him back in office.

I don't think that it is a likely scenario... but it is foolish to dismiss it without reason or evidence.

He's going to use his loyal base to cudgel the GOP with for the next 4 years - extracting influence, favors and more importantly, money. How many millions of dollars will his endorsement be worth to someone in MAGA country?

Expect to see him on TV and hear him on the radio all day, every day, until his age and his poor diet catch up.

we taxpayers, and how much in kickbacks, bribes, etc he raked in.

It's never enough for greedy grifters like him, so the more he got, the higher the odds he'll try to come back to the well. And he didn't really have to do any work.

Also, he's all about the revenge.

So, yeah, I would not be at all surprised.

His defense attorneys will try to plead incapacity to excuse Trumpy-Boy from prosecution, but that won't prevent criminal and civil actions that will strip Trumpy's kids from severe economic losses. Say goodbye to the Trump Empire. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Trump has early stage dementia or Alzheimer's (I'd guess Alzheimer's due to his symptoms.) He has a mountain of crimes that need to be looked at, he's got enough violations of the Emoluments Clause to diminish his assets to the size of a supermarket parking lot, he's got tax evasion crimes, bribery crimes, accomplice to dozens of Hatch Act violations, RICO violations, fraud crimes all over the place... he'll be plenty busy keeping his ass out of jail from the arraignments alone. Oh. And when the shit hits the fan, he'll be forbidden to leave the country due to his scheduled court appearances, investigations, and trials.

He might have time to entertain his fan base and get them worked into frenzies, but he'll be more worried about how to pay off those loans he has outstanding. And when he's out of office, we'll find out to whom he owes hundreds of millions. All told, there will be so much negative press about Trump that he won't be able to keep his head above water. But his fan base is in denial that Trumpy-Boy has done ANYTHING wrong. They're in for a slow and torturous awakening.

I'm betting that the new AG will agree with Swalwell's suggestion that an independent counsel be appointed to deal with all of Trumpy's crimes. Make it independent so that Biden can't easily be tainted with biased political actions, but make sure that the independent counsel can issue indictments.

He might try to be the one running for office but he could also try to recruit someone else. I think it will be a flop. By 2024 he and his message will feel/seem old.

The only exception to this might be if Biden ends up being wildly popular. Rather than waste a good candidate, Republicans may be willing to let what will be a thorn in their side Trump run and get obliterated.
