(609 posts)1. Consistent Republican attack ads on Democrats on socialism and the "defund the police" movement seemed to take a toll on Democrats.
2. COVID-19 likely cost Democrats, too, when they chose to eschew in-person canvassing for much of the campaign season for safety reasons, while Republicans did not.
3. Misreading polls - Losses in California, Florida, New York
I think Bernie and AOC needs to understand the "strategy" component of politics. Hard left need to let moderates run the talk show but win legislatively. Talking up does not help. What did Bernie gain by blabbering his mouth, 4 days before election, about Democrats have become a coastal Party. Really?
