16. In 1974, during the Nixon nightmare

it was decided that a president cannot self-pardon.

Trump could resign and Pence could pardon him, but Trump cannot pardon himself.

5. The Lincoln Project is using "Abe's sources"

To cheekily refer to their sources, because, you know, Lincoln...

9. I predicted this

Because there is no floor for Trump. He doesn't care if the country ends up in a war over him.

12. It will not work. Political parties choose their electors carefully. It is an honor given to long

time party loyalists.

14. Well, Washington had one vote against Hillary.

He voted for Sanders and said he would have done so even if it meant the election.

20. Yes there are usually 1 or 2 faithless electors but I have never seen enough to change the election.

I doubt if many or any Biden electors will vote for Trump, that is what he is wanting to happen.

Supreme Court Rules State 'Faithless Elector' Laws Constitutional
July 6, 202010:18 AM ET

https://www.npr.org/2020/07/06/885168480/supreme-court-rules-state-faithless-elector-laws-constitutional

snip...

The U.S. Supreme Court has unanimously upheld laws across the country that remove or punish rogue Electoral College delegates who refuse to cast their votes for the presidential candidate they were pledged to support.

The decision Monday was a loss for "faithless electors," who argued that under the Constitution they have discretion to decide which candidate to support.

Writing for the court, Justice Elena Kagan, in a decision peppered with references to the Broadway show Hamilton and the TV show Veep, said Electoral College delegates have "no ground for reversing" the statewide popular vote. That, she said, "accords with the Constitution ó as well as with the trust of the Nation that here, We the People rule."

The decision was a relief to election law experts as well as Democratic and Republican party officials, who have long supported faithless elector laws such as those upheld Monday.
