Just asking.

(5,156 posts)Unless we win the Senate, it's going to be 2-4 more years of gridlock. We need Schiff where he can actually accomplish something.

Let him repair counter-intelligence and Fascist proof it with new DOJ procedures.

(19,754 posts)because there's a lot of shit which Trump was stonewalling them on. Stuff that really needs to be properly investigated and remedied.
I'd vote for him when DiFi's seat is next open though.

(16,170 posts)But I like him as Chair of the House Intelligence Committee. He has a lot of work to do starting in January.
Xavier Becerra - California AG - is another option.

(77,278 posts)I think he's a likely candidate to be the dems' next leader. If Nancy steps down as speaker, Adam is likely next SoH.
If he goes to the Senate, he is a rookie in the minority party. (Assuming Georgia doesn't go the way we hope.)
He's got more clout where he is.

(38,541 posts)...but I also love his eloquence and sharp justice driven mind, coupled with some righteous and appropriate but controlled anger.
I just want to see more of him.
I have no dog to hunt in this, and really no right to comment, since I'm merely an ex-Californian. When I was there Randy Cunningham, who may or may not be in jail, was my Congressperson. Ick! I also lived there when Deukmejian and Wilson were Governors, and even, briefly, when Reagan was Governor. I had the pleasure of voting for Jerry Brown in his first Governorship.
I used to think of California as a very right wing state, especially when I lived in San Diego, and I'm very pleased that people like Schiff and Harris and Porter represent modern California. It gives me hope for other states.

(77,278 posts)She flipped a red seat in freaking Orange County.
And she got reelected by over 7%, this week.

(3,871 posts)I think we have enough White men in the Senate. Everyone talks about Black women being the backbone of the Dem party yet we are barely represented in higher political office or the Courts. If Feinstein retires Schiff can run for that seat if he's interested in being a Senator.
