6. The whole lack of a pet always made me suspicious.

I understand if people can’t have pets because they can’t afford it, or work all day, or live in a small space. But, nothing kept them from a pet other than they are cold, heartless, people. Poor Barron. He has never had the joy of a dog, cat, or even a gerbil. It’s so wrong on so many levels.

Ted Kennedy hooked them up with Bo; some friends in Illinois recommended Sunny's breeder.

I recall it was expected or demanded that it be a rescue dog. Not me but I remember it on DU I’m glad the Obamas could enjoy their dogs without a lot of criticism about not being rescues.

Champ is not a rescue, he came from a breeder recommended to the Bidens by a DE state trooper. I have a dear friend with a young shepherd from the same breeder and the dog is gorgeous, well-tempered, and totally devoted to her dog-mom.
