The Beach Boys are from California.
And in honor of the outgoing president, how about having the National Anthem performed by the Pipes and Drums of the Emerald Society, which is the pipe-and-drum corps of the New York Police Department? It's a band made up exclusively of New York City police officers. This one has two advantages: not only will the ceremony be enriched by their presence, they'll be able to slap the Trump Family in irons and take them back to Manhattan when the band leaves.

We COULD, of course, solve the problem by hiring Iron Maiden except that they're British. Last time I went to see Maiden, entire families including the grandparents were going in - and the grandparents were digging it as much as the kids. Maiden's like the circus - it's fun for the entire family.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
