I don't think that Trump will be in the White House by Jan 20
I don't think he'll resign early. He'll just leave at some point. He and Melania won't be there to greet Joe and Jill. Trump won't attend the inauguration. He'll pack up and sneak off sometime before Jan 20.
Trump is the ultimate sore loser.

Carrying out the most prolonged Festivus celebration in history, airing his grievances nonstop.

A lot of blank papers to sign.

Just my opinion.

8. I think Trump will pardon himself. He won't resign.
He'll continue to be president until January 20. He just won't be in residence at the White House on that day, and he won't greet the Bidens.

19. Trump pardoning himself will invite an indictment
We need SCOTUS to weigh in on whether a presidential self-pardon is something he can do. If he can, we need a constitutional amendment to change it.

Maybe he'll go to the golf course in Scotland around New Year's.
In any case, I'd be surprised if he actually resigned. |

14. I think he will be filing legal challenges until the last day
Maybe he’ll fight it even longer. I don’t think Trump’s base is going to desert him because he will keep fighting. As long as Trump’s base sticks with him, it will be very difficult for any elected Republican to repudiate Trump because they will be afraid of getting primaried from the right. It’s not just that Trump is a sore loser, the GOP is full of them.

21. I think that even if he starts spending all his time at Mar-a-lago or elsewhere,
he will leave a lot of his stuff at the White House and not officially vacate until the last possible moment, the better to inconvenience the Bidens on their way in.

25. Nixon (technically the RNC) filed suits in 11 states in 1960.
I think the last was resolved in July 1961.
