He comes on after Anderson Cooper because of the time zone difference and he typically ends up drunk as a skunk, absolutely hysterically funny and with his partner. I adore him!

Thanks for posting this. I saw it in real time on CNN (and it's on my DVR). I was going to try to find a clip.

Note: I broke up the body of her rant into "paragraphs" for easier reading. In the link they count as one dense paragraph.

Joy Reid: Trump Supporters Decided All of His ‘Cruelty’ Was Fine, So ‘Yeah, We’re Gonna Dunk on Y’all’ Today

.... Reid revealed she was in the middle of getting a covid test when she heard the news and said she subsequently walked to Times Square. “And honestly, it’s like a new day, Lawrence. It’s like the city has woken up from a slumber.”

Reid then responded to people saying “don’t dunk on Trump supporters today.”

“Sorry, that’s what people are going to do,” she said. ....

“We have had four years of mass deaths. 240,000 of our fellow Americans have died and Donald Trump was vowing to kill another several million of us through herd immunity. He didn’t care about the dead. He ripped 1,000 children from their parents without a second thought.

Stephen Miller has been installed in the White House for four years practicing open, vile racism and xenophobia and making it policy. Millions of federal employees, hundreds of thousands of them have been barred from talking about systemic racism. They reversed policy on everything that was designed to make this country more fair for people like me. My immigrant family members, none of them could have come here under the rules that they placed against people who are Black and brown and coming from countries that are majority Muslim. They banned Muslim travelers, grandmas that wanted to see their grandkids.

The cruelty, the hideousness of this administration. The awfulness. They were threatening to take away my friends that are gay, that are married, and invalidate their marriages. They put in a Supreme Court that threatened to take away our health care, our desperately-needed health care. All my kids except one would be off my health care if they accomplished that.

They are threatening our lives. They don’t mind if we die. So I’m sorry if the Trump supporters are feeling a little sad this morning, but, yes, we’re going to dunk on y’all, because you 70 million people said all of that was fine, do more of that, just give me a few more pennies in tax cuts if you don’t make a million dollars a year. You didn’t even really get anything. All you got was cruelty towards people like me.”

“This country is awake. We finally feel like we can breathe,” Reid added. ....

I eagerly await this kind of unloading - and hopefully LOTS more.

I hope there are TONS of them.

And I want to read and relish every last one of ‘em!

It’ll be some of the most satisfying reading I’ll have done in a LONG time!

and he let it all hang out in that clip. Good for him!

I would imagine many in the media have had their fill of the insults and threats that are directed at them during rallies. I'm shocked that more haven't been attacked. Their hecklers are only brave enough to attack them when in crowds of like minds. That's how most MAGAts act. It will be so good for them to be gone.

Here come the tears. So sad to hear what he’s been up against— I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. What a beautiful and emotional address he gave—straight from the heart.

PTSD is a good way to describe it.

I feel like I’ve been in some sort of prison for the last four years, and somebody just unlocked the front gates.

In fact, he cried, saying it would now be easier to be a parent, trying to explain to his sons the ugliness they were hearing from Trump and his sycophants. He also mentioned the disrespect he had personally experienced on the street, being called the 'n' word numerous times by total strangers.

There's a reason there were demonstrations of joy and celebration throughout the country today, even around the world. We slayed a dragon, a monstrous Administration threatening to eat the country whole. Despots are rarely deposed peacefully. We've had a major wakeup call, a warning to remain vigilant, always.

For the sake of our children and the future, may we never forget.

I can't tell you how many times I've been on the verge of sobbing today. For the hope of a way forward for my kids and yours, for my baby granddaughter Cassandra.

Today was a good day!

career army. jr rotc, to a ranger tab and cere, both iraq wars, command of ft campbell, ky, a hero in afghanitan. phd from harvard war college.

he was up for a general's star. when he didnt get it, they asked him for 1 more year.
they made him wh liason to jsoc under obama.

all that he had been through, he was fine. until that year.
he had to watch the dannie pearle videos. that did it.

his comment about the george floyd vid made me think of that.
i wonder how many others have the same from allllll those awful vids.
