Trump 'won't attend inauguration as staff light scented candles to improve atmosphere'

The foul-tempered President has repeatedly tried to cast doubt on the election, and the atmosphere in his camp has been described as "“manic" and "toxic”.

Desperate White House staffers have reportedly resorted to lighting rose-scented candles in an effort to calm the raging commander-in-chief, whose defeat was finally announced yesterday.

After more than four days of fraught counting, the election was finally called in favour of Joe Biden as voting figures showed that he had an insurmountable lead in Pennsylvania - which Trump needed to win to have any hope.

It will mean the Republican is the first President since George H. W. Bush to be dumped by voters after a single term.

It takes me back to adolescent memories of being in a funeral home for my grandparents' funerals. It wasn't actual roses (I know what real roses smell like) it was that cheap artificial Airwick rose (back when Airwick was actually a fabric WICK in a bottle of liquid scent.)

In any case... my point is... I guess it's appropriate that everything in the WH has a funereal atmosphere.

But, secretly... Melanie is in her room happy and smiling. Well... smiling as much as her overly botoxed face can manage.

Lavender would have been a better choice.

Well, maybe in Trump's case rose scented might be appropriate, if it reminds people of a funeral.

Same here. That's most definitely the funeral home smell. Fitting. Even better would be the smell of a cell block at Attica after Letitia James gets through with him.

I don't believe the rose scented candles part.

The Daily Mirror is a British national daily tabloid newspaper founded in 1903. It is owned by parent company Reach plc. From 1985 to 1987, and from 1997 to 2002, the title on its masthead was simply The Mirror. It had an average daily print circulation of 716,923 in December 2016, dropping markedly to 587,803 the following year.[2] Its Sunday sister paper is the Sunday Mirror. Unlike other major British tabloids such as The Sun and the Daily Mail, the Mirror has no separate Scottish edition; this function is performed by the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, which incorporate certain stories from the Mirror that are of Scottish significance.

to lose the popular vote TWICE! The second time in such numbers that the electoral college could not cover his loses. A heavy lift, but removing that anachronism from our constitution needs to be right up their with reversing Citizens United.

He lost the popular vote to Clinton by 2.8 million, and Biden has run up more than 4.4 million more votes than Trump this time around.
