Remember when Trump bulldozed sacred Native American land in the Southwest to build his stupid wall?
Apparently they remembered on election day.

You want to know how much the Navajo Nation dislikes trump?
1. of the 85,000 registered voters on Navajo 76,000 voted. 89% turn out
2. Of those 76,000 voters 74,000 voted for Biden & 2,000 for Trump...

(22,588 posts)the effects of the trump administration (and the Kochs and Exxon and every other extraction industry) has had on the U.S. Native American people.
There is one young woman in particular, watching news reports/commentary on a video monitor...her head shaking...struggling mightily to retain composure...a young man that tries so hard to explain the importance of the lands to his people, knowing that those he is talking to have absolutely no interest.
This is truly one of the greatest documentaries I have seen...please watch.

(22,588 posts)I dont really have the vocabulary to express what I am trying to say...it sounds so conspiracy theory except they dont try to hide it, they will plainly state it when asked...
there is a large group...the Kochs, the Bundys, ALL of the extraction industries...that stridently disagree with the concept of public lands in any form. One politician in the film plainly states...what part of the public lands are MINE, cause I want to sell it!

(7,964 posts)So the Dine had 89 percent turnout and 97 percent for Biden. No group can top that.
Tribes like the Oneida and Ojibwe helped make the difference in Wisconsin.

(57,780 posts)If it were up to white folks (of which I'm one), this country would be a cesspool.
Thanks to the Navajo nation, to African Americans, Hispanics, and other minorities whose judgment far exceeds that of white people.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
