The process is generally designed to preclude that kind of thing.

The process is designed to avoid that. That's why even the small-time ones, like the woman they paraded around who claimed that her vote was rejected when she actually tried to vote twice, get caught.

It's also why the claims of widespread voter fraud are ridiculous, regardless of the source.

If they're going to cheat, it's through voter suppression, purging voter rolls, gerrymandering, and other avenues. It's difficult to accomplish much through illegally voting which is why we rarely see it.

We need to acknowledge that, sometimes, results we don't like might actually be because of voter intent and not widespread fraud. Otherwise, we sound like Trump and learn nothing.

Various jurisdictions in Colorado, Florida, Oregon, Ohio and Washington also use the platform as a way for voters to mark ballots remotely and submit them by email, fax or mail.”

“Delaware, also citing the pandemic, recently announced it would make online voting available to voters who were sick or in quarantine. And West Virginia said it would allow online voting by some residents with disabilities, military personnel and overseas residents, as it has since 2018.

And in emergency cases, Colorado will allow some voters to submit ballots electronically, it announced last week. Like New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia and Colorado have contracted with Democracy Live.”

They don't want to trade one of the most powerful people in government for someone who would be starting from scratch.

South Dakota did the reverse years ago - they dumped Daschle, one of the five most powerful members of Congress, for Thune, who hasn't done anything since other than warm a chair.

Politically, it's actually a smart move to keep McConnell, even if they hate him.

Some of it, of course, is that the state is very conservative and there are lots of straight-R voters.

reinforcing the bugaboo about "illegal voting?"

This is a Republican "shtick" -- and it's used to disenfranchise voters.
We try not to do that on our side!

1 registered voter = 1 vote allowed

are you talking about recounts? Or do you have some other method of "checking" votes? I think you've lost me.

With respect -- "illegal voting" is still a Republican bugaboo

How are you going to "check" these votes? Are you asking for a recount? If not -- what exactly are you proposing -- or asking for?

"illegal voting" -- show me where, and who is doing it (in any numbers at all) -- or it's still a Republican boogieman.
