(8,052 posts)Their mission kind of ended. But thousands of bored housewives are all hopped up on rescuing human trafficking victims from the Democrats and don't know what to do now.

(21,111 posts)I bet someone like Stephen Miller, Alex Jones or Russia trolls are the origins of these insane conspiracy theories. My husbands 23 year old nephew is a follower and his mother is worried about his sanity. His younger sister hung up on him when she told him she was voting for Biden and Qanon was crazy shit. He got really angry with her.

That's why your QAnon relative is spouting a string of contradictory "truths" with all the sincerity of a three year old with unrestricted access to YouTube.

One of my white-hat co-workers has a side gig monitoring 4chan, she saw QAnon bubble up.
After that, seemed that anyone with enough money or conservative cred could pretend they were Q, as long as they had an admin password.
So many people are gullible. Yes, I take mainstream media with a grain of salt, but I know a con when I see one. And it helps to know people working Cyber security when questioning social media.

Oh, and the Tea Party.
Now it's Oath Keepers and Q.
