Whether or not we yet know it, we are all in this together. There is an external force attempting to take over our democracy. No one can be permitted to steal an election. Our local authorities across this nation are very capable of counting all the votes, if there is no outside interference. I think that is probably something that most Democrats and Republicans can agree with. Trump and his confederates need to stop interfering with the election results. Let the people's voices and votes be heard.
They do not want to give up power. That is not the way it happens in America. We have elections. The people vote. The vote is obeyed. Those that interfere with our vote and our elections are not patriots. They are anti-democracy and anti-American.
Sensible Democrats and Republicans understand that we are in this battle together against an external enemy. The war should not be between Democrats and Republicans at this time. They should be joining forces against this external enemy. In my opinion, this is what is happening to America at this time.

(17,862 posts)So far two Senators have acknowledged Biden's victory even though his vote margins are grater than Trump's four years ago. Several GOP Senators and Representatives are actively supporting complaints of fraud.

We're a long way from that, though.

(4,429 posts)but accepting the vote is part of democracy. You are right in that it is foundational.
However, from what I've seen, most people accept the election results. Sure, there are folks who are protesting. But that's the overwhelming minority.
Since the beginning of this trump era, I've read a reddit thread where people pose questions to trump supporters. Most gave answers (the trump folks) that I found shocking and incomplete). So, I didn't read there everyday, lol.
But in the aftermath of the election, they wish Biden well, feel badly because they have some sense that this is not good - but also say that trump was his worst enemy and his loss was his fault.
No one there is blaming fraud. If you look at the protesters and see them as a percentage of all trump voters - it has got to be very small. Sure, they are loud and abrasive. But they are the minority.
